Benjamin Docquir

Benjamin is a Partner in Brussels and heads our Belgium IT & IP law department. An expert in intellectual property and technology law, Benjamin specialises in privacy, data security and information technology law. He assists clients with the digital transformation of business processes and the mitigation of risks associated with information security and information management.

Benjamin possesses significant experience in advising clients on software licensing, open source projects, databases and software patents, IT outsourcing and cloud computing agreements.

His practice covers advertising and consumer protection, and the cross-border aspects of e-commerce, which include freedom of services and freedom of establishment. The practice also covers multi jurisdictional matters. He regularly assists national and international clients in structuring, drafting and negotiating IT contracts, outsourcing and other ICT or e-commerce related projects.

Benjamin is the author of several publications on data protection law and the interplay of intellectual property and information technology. He is a member of IAPP, ItechLaw, the Belgian chapter of ALAI and the Benelux chapter of Licensing Executives Society.

Benjamin serves as an academic associate, collaborating in the JurisLab and Unit Economic Law of the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
